A parable of betrothal unfolds among dishes on the plate: the steak and fried egg stay faithful to one another, while the tomato is devoured out of jealousy. In a human-shaped fruit realm, the humble cherry is bullied, only to be rescued by a watermelon. The cherry later falls in love with a durian, drawing the spiteful schemes of a bitter pineapple woman. In the end, the durian sacrifices itself to shield the cherry from a blade.
